For the Guys

Some people say the faux hawk is out... I say it is never out.  A lot of guys want to have the appearance of the faux hawk just for a night out.  In order for this look to work you have to have a little length on the top.  So for all of you guys who have some length on top here is the trick. You have to push the hair with some good hold product to the top center of your head and forward... I suggest Kevin Murphy Knight Rider it has good hold and not a lot of shine. So push the hair to the middle up creating a triangle with your hands on top of your head and forward.  Once you have a point formed in the front of your head and a mini hawk going spike and work to your pleasing. Just don't over do it guys the last thing we want is for you to look like your from Jersey Shore dodging grenades...

The Bump

 Sometimes all a girl wants is volume... To create a bump without the bird nest affect... Lift up a 2 inch section of hair at the top of your crown (the part your halo would be attached to if you had one) leave that part ALONE. Use either hairspray or Big Sexy Hair Back Comb in a Bottle, spray on roots of the hair below the 2 inch part you are leaving alone.  With a close tooth comb, run the teeth of the comb in an up and down sweeping motion until you have created what looks like an awful mess. Keep teasing to your liking and then smooth the 2 inch section you left alone over the top of your teased section. Spray hair in place and there you have it Big Sexy Hair!

Flirty PonyTails

To create a simple but flirty pony tail, pull back hair loose but high, fasten hairband.  Tease the pony tail and spray, take one small 1 inch piece of hair and wrap it around the hairband and fasten with a bobby pin underneath base of pony.  With the flirty pony you can dress it up or be casual with it.  Stay tuned for more tips and tricks.  Next week we learn how to do achieve Taylor Swifts beautiful look!

The Taylor Swift Curls

Heat up a 1" barrel curling iron.  If you have heat resistant gloves this could help for you to not burn yourself.... but if not just be extra careful with your fingers!  Start at the front of your hairline taking short 1" ribbons of hair manually wrap your hair around the barrel holding on to the tip of your hair but get it as close to the end as possible.DO NOT USE THE CLIP OF THE IRON OR YOU WILL NOT GET THE SAME SHAPE OF CURL! Spray after each curl to ensure some holding power.  Start from the front and work to the middle of the back of your head and repeat on the other side.  For Taylor's bangs you can do an exagerated side part and sweep the curls across the front of your forehead, spraying in place as you go.  Place curls where you desire and there you have it!  Taylor Swift curls!
